The Assess solution can also be implemented and configured to support commercial customer use cases. Its pursuit of granularity and accurate enrichment enables the platform to be deployed flexibly across client requirements.
TransUnion maintains a robust security framework and already holds all key recognised certifications, including PCI DSS-certified infrastructure, ISO 27001:2022, SOC 2 Type 2, and full GDPR compliance. As an FCA-regulated company, we prioritise data protection and regulatory adherence. We remain committed to continuous improvement and regularly review our practices to stay aligned with industry developments.
Bud's legal function is led by General Counsel Hollie Cope-Jones, who brings deep expertise from a leading international law firm. The Head of Legal is supported by a team of qualified solicitors with strong backgrounds in commercial law and dispute resolution, gained at top-tier firms. This in-house team works in close collaboration with a network of well-regarded external legal advisors, ensuring comprehensive coverage across all legal and regulatory matters. Together, they maintain a proactive compliance framework, embedding effective controls throughout the business and closely monitoring regulatory developments, particularly those from the FCA, including regular reviews of published ‘Approach Documents’ and other relevant guidance.
We also actively participate in Requests for Information received by the FCA on new and upcoming regulations that will have an impact on its business. This includes having qualified individuals such as our VP of Risk & Compliance taking on controlled functions such as MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Office) and SMF (Senior Management Functions as dictated by the FCA) functions for compliance and risk.
Our platform is designed for horizontal scalability and is regularly tested to support up to 4 million users for ingestion and 50 million users for enrichment functionality per cluster. Where required, multiple clusters can be deployed, allowing the platform to scale well beyond these benchmarks. Its modular architecture enables each data block to be retrieved independently, ensuring that the correct data points are delivered to clients in real time, on demand, and with only the relevant information provided.
Our platform is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and leverages automated systems to scale and provision infrastructure as needed. This is complemented by continuous capacity planning and monitoring carried out by the platform team. The application layer consists of multiple load-balanced, small instances that automatically scale in response to increased traffic. Similarly, the database layer is configured to auto-scale based on usage. In addition to these automated scaling measures, capacity planning and performance monitoring are conducted regularly, both internally and through ongoing dialogue with clients, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Autoscaling is employed to respond rapidly to unexpected spikes in traffic that exceed natural patterns and to safeguard against increases not accounted for during capacity planning. The platform currently processes over 5 billion transactions annually and is regularly tested to handle transaction rates of up to 33,600 per second. Since going live, the Enterprise Platform has maintained an API success rate of over 99.999%. Across the entire customer base, including SMEs and fintech’s, all clients have experienced at least 99.99% uptime over any rolling 12-month period in the past four years. Today, the platform processes between 25 to 100 million transactions daily on average.
To support enhanced analytics and insights across diverse customer segments, Bud introduced Drive Copilot, a generative AI-powered assistant analysis tool. This internal client tool transforms advanced AI capabilities into accessible functionality, enabling individuals across the business to perform complex queries about their customer base—without requiring knowledge of SQL. It also translates business objectives (e.g., increasing cash deposits) into actionable analysis and segmentation. For example, it can identify customers who may be incurring high fees for international transactions and suggest targeted marketing campaigns to demonstrate potential savings if those transactions were conducted through the client’s services.
Drive Copilot, part of our Drive platform, brings generative AI into every customer engagement by combining real-time analytics, transaction enhancement, and a natural language interface. It empowers employees across financial organisations to generate insights, create customer segments, and act on data—without needing technical expertise. With a powerful new logic core, seamless workflow integration, and upcoming high-impact features, Drive Copilot represents the next evolution in customer-centric analytics and intelligent engagement.
What's more, they'll have the ability to track the results of their activity in real-time. Thanks to its fusion of GenAI with high-quality, AI-refined data, its broad set of models working in the background to find meaningful insights, and its integration into a real-time engine capable of segment, trigger and action management. Drive Copilot takes the best of the generative AI world and makes it a must-have for financial services institutions.
